Firecat of Discord was formed in 1995, in Santa Fe,
New Mexico by five musician-songwriters who wanted to perform their
original songs. They started playing around Santa Fe and Northern New
Mexico, and soon developed a loyal and enthusiastic following.
Several Firecat songs were used for the soundtrack of
the film Bonnie Looks away's Iron Art Wagon. Since the release of their first
CD, Firecat of Discord, the band has become known nationally. In 2000 the
Firecats hit the road with performances at the Native American Music
Festival in Arizona and The Oneida Casino in Wisconsin, sharing the bill
with Rita Coolidge and Walela.
Each member of the band brings a different and unique
background and perspective to the musical mix of Firecat. Their songs
reflect the influences of Country, Rock, Jazz, and Native American music.
